Laila Milly

At what point in a child’s illness does the Laila Milly foundation become involved?

We can be contacted for support at any stage of illness, from diagnosis and during treatment. We know coming to terms with the news that your child has a serious and complex health condition is devastating. Parents often provide 24/7 care for their children and the pressure of caring for a child with complex health needs is physically and emotionally exhausting.

We will ensure that families can access support at our day centre, we know each child needs a unique package of care and support. Every child at the centre will have care needs tailored and delivered when and where it is needed, allowing the child to live as near normal a life as possible.

How do families apply to the Laila Milly foundation?

Families are referred to the Laila Milly Foundation. This referral may come from any source, provided it is with the knowledge and agreement of the family, or can be directly from the family themselves.  Once the application has been made, an assessment visit will be arranged, where individual circumstances are discussed and paperwork is kept to a minimum.

How much do you charge families for the nursery?

Laila Milly foundation does not charge for its service. The nursery is free for all children with serious and complex health conditions and their families.

What is gift aid?

Gift aid is a government run scheme that allows us to reclaim the tax on your donation. This means that for every £1 you donate, we get an extra 25p back, making your donation go even further at no extra cost to you.  For example if you donated £10, we can claim an extra £2.50 from the government on top of your donation making it £12.50!

Last year we were able to claim just under £4000 back through gift aid, so you can see what a huge difference ticking the gift aid box means!  If you haven’t already done so, please register your details for gift aid.

Please make sure that you are eligible to claim gift aid on your donation. You are eligible for gift aid on your donations if you’re a UK taxpayer and earn over £10,000 a year and if the amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax you’ve paid for the tax year in which you make your donation, is at least equal to the amount of basic rate tax the charity will reclaim on your gift.
