Who is eligible to attend the Centre?

Families who have a child up to the age of 5 with serious or complex health needs, or a life limiting condition are eligible to attend our day centre.  We work with parents & siblings to enable parents to have a rest from their caring role and spend quality time with their other children.

Who can make a referral?

Anyone can make a referral to the Laila Milly foundation as long as it is with the knowledge and permission of the family involved. It doesn’t have to be an outside agency; parents/carers can refer themselves. A referral can be made either by emailing enquiries@lailamillyfoundation.org.uk or by phoning 07846 986405.

Following a referral, an assessment visit will be arranged either at your home or at our day centre and the families’ individual circumstances discussed. Once the assessment is complete, and if appropriate, your child will be able to start attending our day centre.

Our Facilities

We have a state of the art multi-sensory room, which includes a bubble wall and fibre-optic strands that cascade down the wall.  It also features a padded seating area that has speakers built into it, so music can be played and the vibrations can be felt through it; this is especially effective for children with auditory impairments. We have a projector mounted to the ceiling so that we can project films onto the wall, so the children can watch their favourite films on the big screen!

There are different types of switches so that the children, whatever their ability, are able to change the environment around them.

Our main activity room is brightly decorated with beautiful murals. Here the children can do group or one-to-one activities, from story corner to making artwork.

We have a parent’s lounge which has a homely feel to it with a comfortable sofa, TV, bookshelf and Tea/Coffee making facilities, so that they can have some time to themselves or chat with other families/staff.

We will be running different courses such as infant massage and baby signing, please get in touch to register your interest in either/both of these courses.
